Does anyone really care?

It’s the day after Thanksgiving and I must ask myself — “Does anyone really care?”

Last night, I went to a friend’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone was having a wonderful time – mingling and enjoying each other’s company, until all of a sudden — DISASTER!

Let me briefly explain…

One of the women at the table was talking about her life and the difficult time she was having deciding on a vocational direction.Well, that was my cue. If you knew me better, you would know that I simply can’t resist budding in when I hear that someone is confused about their life direction. How can I possibly stay silent? This is my expertise! This topic has been occupying my brain for the past fifteen years. If I can help with anything, this would be it. So I had to speak out. And of course I did.

Mistake? You tell me.

I asked the woman a few astrology-based questions, thought about her situation for a couple of minutes, and then proceeded to give her a brief overview of her over-arching life theme (north node). The woman sat quietly, attentively listening to what I had to say, until, completely out of the blue, another guest abruptly interrupted us.

The individual began lecturing me on the proper and improper etiquette of offering astrological advice. In his opinion, most people are not interested in astrological explanations. And if they were, then they would ask for such assistance. And until they do ask, they should not be told.

Following that outburst, another friend jumped in and made an opposing, also interesting observation. She stated that many people who are interested in exploring the astrological perspective of their life, might simply be too shy, embarrassed, or uncomfortable asking for such assistance. So in her opinion, not only is “unsolicited” astrological advice welcomed by most “silent” observers, but it is also desperately needed.

You get the idea…heated to say the least. But I enjoy this type of debate because I think it brings us closer to seeing the truth. And that’s why I mention it to you.

That conversation really got me thinking. And it’s making me wonder what people really think and believe.

Does one have to believe in astrology in order to benefit from it? We don’t have to believe in psychology…then why astrology?

Are people interested in an astrological perspective even if they don’t reveal their curiosity?

Have the tabloids damaged the credibility of astrology beyond repair?

Many such questions twirl within the confines of my own head — questions that I would like to find answers to…questions that maybe you can help me answer.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject –

Do you think that society is ready to view astrology as a therapeutic tool rather than a play toy?

What has to happen in order for such a transformation to take place?

Do you think that people do want to explore their chart’s potential but are too uncomfortable in expressing that interest because of societal taboos?

Is the world still too skeptical and closed-minded to consider alternative possibilities?

Tell me what you think…

I think an honest review of our beliefs (and misconceptions) can help break the wall between past and future and allow us to bridge the gaps not only within ourselves but also with the world that surrounds us.

I’m listening.
